Supporting Community
Being present in the community is vital to understanding Zebulon's needs and showing up matters. Here's how I've supported and continue to support Zebulon.
Vaccination Clinics
During the pandemic, I worked with Dr. Casey Baldwin and through her contacts, was able to bring 3 vaccination clinics to Zebulon when it was extremely difficult to get access to vaccines.
Food Security
ZUMC Food Pantry, East Wake Food Family, Capital Area Food Access Network, Bread for Life of America, Backpack Buddies, Meals on Wheels
Volunteer at WCPSS and EWA
I am always available to present to students. Whether I am talking about my role in municipal government, talking to kids about bees and honey, teaching students about small business or just reading a book to a class, I love being involved with our schools.
Training with ZFD and Riding along with ZPD
In order to understand the challenges and needs of our Police and Fire departments, I have participated in a live burn and done ride alongs with both the Police department as well as our Fire Marshall.
Special Olympics
Usually, the only time I run is if a bear is chasing me, unless it's to support the Special Olympics, and then I run painfully slow but cross the finish line just the same.
CAC
As a new member of the Eastern Regional Community Advocacy Committee, I am looking forward to serving my community in an even larger capacity.
