On the Board of Commissioners:

• Passed the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) that sets parameters and expectations for the development community and builders.

• Passed the Transportation and Land Use Plan which creates a framework for future roads and allows the town to pursue outside funding for transportation infrastructure projects as well as creates a map of how Zebulon may look in the future.

• Passed the Parks and Rec Masterplan that outlines where and how future parks will develop and what ammenities will be created as we grow.

• Secured congressional funding to activate some of our alleyways thus creating meaningful gathering spaces in our Downtown.

• Passed the Utility Allocation Policy that encuorages the development community to build better product to serve our community better.

• Achieved Membership in the Downtown Mainstreet program whose resources and guidance will help us to further revitalize our Downtown and help businesses succeed.

• Approved the Little River Park Master Plan which will guide us on how to create a meaningful outdoor space for playing, learning, and connecting with nature in the land surrounding the current Little River Park. 

• Invested in building out greenways and sidewalks, making Zebulon more walkable, bikeable, and family friendly.

• Purchased several parcels of land to help us work towards several long term goals. The parcel abutting the current Municipal Complex will be the site of our new Fire/EMS Station and is currrently used as soccerfields. Additional parcels will be used to further the plans set out in the Parks and Rec Master Plan.

• Approved and Budgeted for Facade and Upfit Grants which help Downtown Building Owners breathe new life into their buildings as well as into our downtown.

• Begun to address pay compression problems within our departments, notably Fire and Police. 

• Funded events and activities that bring us together as a community: The Spring Concert Series, The Downtown Concert Series, Candy Cane Lane, BINGO and other programming at the Community Center, Popsicles in the Park....

Personally:

• Created a feeding program the night that Wake County shut schools due to COVID that put over 22,000 meals into the community over a 4 month period. With help from Parks and Rec, I was able to provide activity packets along with the meals, keeping children engaged and families fed.

• Following the feeding program, I collaborated with Wake County to run a Food Hub in Zebulon that provided nutritious food to families, supported local farmers, and aided local non-profits.

• Engaged with Wake Med and Empowered Citizens to start the conversation about teens' needs in our community, leading to Zebulon's first Youth Services Summit.
